Meat Cabbage Rolls
- Place uncooked frozen cabbage rolls in a covered roaster
- For two dozen: add 6 cups of tomato juice and 5 cups of water (as the rice is uncooked)
- To sour the cabbage: add ½ cup of vinegar and 2 tbsp. of salt. Cover and put in the oven and cook at 350F for 4 hours.
- In the crock pot: cook on high for 6 hours or on low for 12 hours.
Rice and Onion Cabbage Rolls
- Place frozen cabbage rolls in a single layer in a covered casserole.
- Add liquid half way up the cabbage rolls, (I like to use chicken broth, you can also use tomato juice and water).
- Place in the oven and cook at 325 F for 2 ½ hours.
- Watch they do not burn as you may have to add more liquid, if too much is added at the beginning the rice will get mushy.
